Two
year anniversary!
It
has been two years since Dragon Empires was announced
and the first web site went up! On this anniversary
we've been busy testing our formal battle system and
preparing for an internal demonstration. It's been
a lot of fun setting up our demonstration characters
with the best gear and equipment, even though with
all the dressing and undressing of the characters
that this required one developer asked if I had a
Barbie doll when I was young! For the record, I stuck
strictly with toy soldiers and never ever undressed
them.
From
the emails we have been receiving I know a lot of
people are wondering when they are going to get into
beta. With Beta1 starting in November we are not putting
out any more invites until then, so please be patient.
The test won't grow tens of thousands of testers until
the new year and we expect most of you to get invited
sometime around then.
Tester
X gives us another beta update!
Tester
X was so encouraged by feedback from its last diary
that it has written a follow up diary which we are
pleased to present to you today. Go here
and have a read and chat on the forums about Tester
X's latest revelations.
Feature
of the week: City expansion
If you end up owning a city what mark can
you make on the world? Well, you can add new
buildings and add defences to your city using
our Placement Point system. Around the city
are invisible placement points that only appear
when clan leaders go to place a building to
add to the town. When the leader has a building
plan ready in their hands the placement points
will appear, showing where that particular
city addition can go. Everything from banners
and statues through to new buildings and workshops
(to improve production efficiency) can be
placed. Once placed the city will adjust itself
so the new building fits in naturally. In
the Redwing empire raised platforms and bridges
will appear to connect the new structure to
the rest of the city and other empires will
adjust in similar ways.

Letter
from Gadsolme Greetings,
Since last we met my exhibition has begun and
I have but a few brief moments to prepare something
for your delectation. I have therefore decided
to once more lift an extract from Elin’s
theological lexicon. In this piece she introduces
us to the rather complex character of the fire
god, Perras....more

Dee posted an interesting message on the
world map and looks at some of the names
closely. Dee noticed some humorous and whimsical relationships
between town names and area names.
Fan
site of the week
Moonshade (revisited) www.moonshade.com
The team at Moonshade have been very busy. If you
have your clan registered there you can now see a
list of all changes made by your leader and members.
There has also been a clan leader council formed for
clan leaders to chat. They have also been experimenting
with voice communications and finally, you can have
a clan 'business card' created if you want! Head to
their site and have a look for yourself at their hard
work. |
