November has seen us continue to progress towards
Beta1. The programming team have been working on finalising
the quest and economy systems as well as working on
the server, skills and progression systems. These
are some of the major milestones for Beta1 so seeing
them progress has been quite exciting. The world team
has been placing the buildings for the Empire of the
Lady and very impressive they look too! Most of the
Lady Empire cities are on top of giant monoliths which
tower above the surrounding landscape and dominate
the skyline for miles. The art team continue creating
and tweaking monsters, armour, weapons and the user
interface. The quality of work being done now is outstanding
and most of it will be visible in Beta1 which is great
news.
We
haven't yet announced a firm date for the next phase
of Beta but we will as soon as we are clearer on the
timing. Until then, keep an eye on the news and watch
out for a great competition in December's newsletter!
Feature of the week - Chat system
Communication is crucial in an MMORPG. After all,
if you can't talk to friends what's the point of the
MM in MMORPG! Dragon Empires features an excellent
and detailed chat system that lets players talk and
shout locally, chat with their guild mates as well
as send messages to friends anywhere in the world.
Further, any player can create a custom chat channel
and let people search for and join these channels
from anywhere in the world. You can create a private
channel for political discussions or to hatch your
next evil scheme.
